Bard College Takes a Different Approach to the College Application

The New York Times recently posted a piece on Bard’s new take on the college application. After eliminating the acceptance of SAT and ACT scores, Bard is now offering students the chance to submit three research papers in the place of a traditional college essay.

“[This] is an attempt to return the application process to its fundamental goal: rewarding the best candidates, rather than just those who are best able to market themselves to admissions committees.”
